Christina Tobin slams Illinois ballot access tyranny at Rockford Tea Party

ROCKFORD–Christina Tobin, Founder and chief executive of Free & Equal Elections, was one of two keynote speakers at the packed Rockford Tea Party Town Hall on February 20, 2010. She spoke on the topic of ballot access; what event organizers dubbed “the forgotten freedom.”

On Thursday, December 10, Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United of Illinois, was interviewed by 1330 WNTA Rockford. Tobin spoke to the station regarding Gov. Patrick Quinn and Comptroller Daniel Hynes’ recent attempts to knock their gubernatorial opponents– William “Dock” Walls, III and Ed Scanlon– out of the February 2 Primary.

On Wednesday, October 20, WREX reporter Bob Schaper stopped by the NTUI office to interview president Jim Tobin and research contributor Bill Zettler about the bloated Illinois government retirement system. Armed with the 2009 edition of NTUI’s Illinois Top 100 Government Pension Payouts (download here), Jim and Bill exposed the vast discrepancy between government employee retirement benefits and what is available to those in the private sector.

Yesterday was an extra busy day for Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United of Illinois. First, he was interviewed by NBC TV in Rockford regarding NTUI’s Taxpayer Survey. Later that night, he spoke at the Fox Valley Libertarian Party (FVLP) meeting.
